Making Music Provides Exciting Opportunity for Recreational Musicians at the Empire Room during the New York State Fair
August 22, 2012
Syracuse, NY - In an effort to connect with the local community and its network of recreational musicians, Making Music magazine will host daily showcases at the Empire Room during the New York State Fair, August 23-September 3, 2012, in Syracuse NY.
Musicians of all genres, from solo acts to full bands, will be performing daily (times: 12-1:30, 3:30-5, 6-7:30). We’re encouraging local friends and fans to come see these great acts! The act with the largest sign-in at the Empire Room will be featured in an upcoming spotlight article in Making Music magazine. Produced locally in Armory Square, Making Music is the only national magazine written specifically for recreational musicians.
In honor of the showcase, and to further show its support and commitment to the Central New York community, Making Music is making a sizable donation to the nonprofit Music for the Mission. Each musician who performs at the showcase will receive admission to the State Fair, refreshments, and other goodies that include a Making Music subscription, t-shirt, and gift bag.
There are still a few performance spots open. Amateur and recreational musicians can e-mail showcase@makingmusicmag.com for more information. Making Music invites all fair-goers to stop by the Empire Room to listen to and support great local musicians and learn more about Music for the Mission.
